At SJF Law Group, we believe that investing in the next generation is essential to building stronger communities and a brighter future. This belief is why we created our Future Leaders Scholarship, and why, for the second year in a row, we’re proud to celebrate a local student taking a bold step toward that future.
This year, we invited high school seniors in Broward County to submit a 90-second video making the case for one side of a thought-provoking prompt: Is cancel culture accountability or censorship? Pick one side and explain.
We wanted to hear from students who could think critically, form a position, and defend it with confidence – skills that will serve them well no matter where their path leads.
After reviewing the submissions, we were proud to award the $1,000 Future Leaders Scholarship to Nathaly Gisel Cabrera-Hernandez, a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School. Nathaly will be attending Florida State University this fall, where she plans to pursue a career in law. Her thoughtful perspective and clear passion for her future made her submission stand out among a strong pool of applicants.
This scholarship reflects our firm’s ongoing commitment to education, mentorship, and the students who will shape the communities we serve. Watching young people like Nathaly think critically, speak up, and pursue ambitious goals, including, in her case, a future in our own field, is exactly why we do this every year.
Congratulations, Nathaly, and best of luck at Florida State University. We can’t wait to see where your future leads. And to every student who submitted a video this year: thank you for sharing your voice with us.
