If Something Happens Tomorrow, Are Your Assets Actually Protected?

What you own, where it’s exposed, and how to protect it before the trouble starts

Date: Wednesday, October 21
Time: 12:00 PM ET

Most people assume their assets are protected until a lawsuit, car accident, creditor claim, or divorce proves otherwise. The problem usually isn’t that you did nothing. The problem is that the protections you’re counting on don’t hold up when it matters.

In this practical, plain-English session, Florida attorney Samantha Fitzgerald walks through what you own, where it may already be exposed, what Florida law already protects, and the specific strategies that close the gaps.

What You’ll Learn

  • Where your home, savings, investments, business, and real estate may be exposed and where Florida law already provides protection
  • Common ownership and estate planning mistakes that can unintentionally put your assets at risk
  • How trusts, titling, beneficiary planning, and other strategies can help protect what you’ve built
  • What to look at in your own situation before a lawsuit, death, or unexpected event exposes a problem

Why Attend

You can’t protect what you don’t know is exposed. And once a claim, lawsuit, or dispute begins, most options for fixing a gap are already gone. This session is about finding those gaps while you can still close them.

Why It Matters

Most people don’t find out their protection has a gap until someone is already making a claim against them. By then, the options for fixing it are mostly gone. A court can reverse asset transfers after a lawsuit is filed, and even a foreseeable claim can be enough to undo a transfer.

Asset protection is one of the few areas of planning where timing decides whether the work counts at all. Everything covered in this session is something you can still do now, and largely cannot do once a problem starts.
